More than 400 distinguished guests will be on hand at the V.I.P. Country Club, New Rochelle, NY, to congratulate Dr. Perkins.

Today's Students Tomoorow's Teachers recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of its pioneering teacher mentoring program in the Rochester region that has been successfully addressing the serious teacher diversity shortage. The Rochester region was the first that TSTT established in the 2004-2005 school year.

The Giving Library is an online video archive developed by the Laura and John Arnold Foundation to connect prospective donors to worthy charitable organizations.

(November 13, 2013 Boston, MA) Dr. Bettye H. Perkins, President and CEO of Today’s Students Tomorrow’s Teachers was a panelist at the Annual Building Bridges Conference held by the Massachusetts Partnership for Diversity in Education (MPDE) and discussed “Strategies for Increasing Diversity in Educational Communities” with local, state, and national educational leaders at Regis College.  The keynote speaker, Dr. Matthew H. Malone, Secretary of Education for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts focused on the future of education in Massachusetts and addressed the vital relationship between a teacher and a student.

(New York City, October 6, 2013) …. “The many demands on educators today are greater than ever,” was a common refrain voiced by teachers during the MSNBC News Education Nation Teacher Town Hall on Sunday October 6, 2013. Teachers must meet the needs of an increasingly diverse student population in terms of ethnicity, ability, languages and life circumstances. While 45% of today’s public school students are from ethnically diverse backgrounds, only 13% of US teachers are from diverse backgrounds.

Dr. Perkins will be honored for her visionary approach to mentoring and training culturally diverse students who want to become the next generation of effective teachers in Westchester County.
