In just 12 years, Today's Students, Tomorrow's Teachers (TSTT) has grown from only 7 students in Ossining, New York in 1994 to nearly 500 students in 2006. Our students are enrolled in 35 high schools and 20 colleges throughout New York State. In suburban communities and urban school districts as diverse as Mt. Vernon and Yonkers, to the upstate schools of Greater Rochester, TSTT is expanding the reach of our program both within and beyond New York State.

TSTT teacher mentors are preparing hundreds of high school students for college. For many of our students, it means becoming the first in their families to go to college, as well as a unique opportunity to work with concerned teachers who help them to gain the experience and knowledge necessary to lead the rewarding life of a teacher.

We are very proud of the first core group of 45 TSTT graduates who are currently working as teachers and making a positive impact on the lives of thousands of children, and the nearly 50 TSTT college seniors we expect to graduate this year and begin teaching in 2007.

We are delighted to announce the expansion of the TSTT program outside of New York State. For the first time, TSTT will be operating in the State of Virginia and the first 50 TSTT high school students in Prince William County public schools are currently registering for the program. These students will be job shadowing their teacher mentors who nurture their passion for learning, train them to tutor other students, and encourage them to go to college and become certified teachers.

We are thrilled to announce that our 20th college partner is the first southern university to join our impressive roster of participating colleges, which offer 50% tuition scholarships to TSTT graduates upon admission.

TSTT would never be able to offer such strong academic and personal support to our high school and college students without the time commitment and energy from our teacher mentors. Nor could we operate this growing program without the generous contribution of funds from a broad base of concerned school districts, individual donors, corporations and foundations.

We invite all interested school districts and contributors to contact us to learn more about our program and expansion plans in New York City, Connecticut and New Jersey. Our vision is that with your support, we may continue to grow and embolden our graduates as they prepare the next generation of students to achieve their goals and become qualified teachers.

Today's Students, Tomorrow's Teachers has made a commitment to:
" invest these contributions wisely in college preparation and career development workshops
" provide an excellent high school teacher training program
" enable our high school students continue their education in college and receive assistance in our SAT Prep program and from our 20 partner colleges' 50% tuition scholarships;
" encourage their teaching certification
" ensure career placement in teaching positions in their home communities.

Whether you can contribute $50 or $50,000, rest assured, the greatest return on your investment is the future generation of qualified teachers, for they will inspire other students to reach their full potential.

On behalf of Today's Students, Tomorrow's Teachers, all of our students, teacher mentors, dedicated staff and Board of Directors, we are grateful for your interest in furthering our mission.

We look forward to your support as we shape the future generation of our increasingly competitive and global society.

Bettye H. Perkins, Ed.D.
Executive Director
